neck pain

man suffering from neck painOrtho Sport & Spine Physicians is a trusted leader of effective, minimally invasive treatment for cervical spinal stenosis. Cervical spinal stenosis is a condition characterized by a narrowing or constricting of the spinal canal in the upper area of the spine (neck). Our double board-certified interventional spine physicians and orthopedic specialists are experts when it comes to treating this chronic and painful condition. We are committed to using the most minimally invasive treatments available to help patients find long-term relief from their neck pain and other symptoms and return to normal activity levels.

At Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians, we see each patient as an individual. By keeping our patient-to-provider ratio lower than most other practices, we are able to take more time with each patient. This enables us to take a more thorough medical history, conduct a more complete physical examination and understand each patient’s unique challenges and goals for treatment. The goal of our cervical spinal stenosis treatment is to help our patients achieve long-term relief from their pain, improved function and a better overall quality of life.

Symptoms of Cervical Spinal Stenosis

Symptoms of cervical spinal stenosis include neck pain, pain that radiates to the head, arms and shoulders, stiffness and/or numbness in the spine, arms and shoulders, and muscle weakness. With cervical spinal stenosis, the symptoms may appear gradually and then worsen over time. Treatments for cervical spinal stenosis may include stretching, exercise, rest, anti-inflammatory medications (oral and injected) and physical therapy.

In the cases where all conservative treatments have been exhausted, surgery may be considered. In this case, minimally invasive, endoscopic spine surgery may be recommended. Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians is pleased to be one of the nation’s leading providers of minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery (also known as “band-aid back surgery”). With endoscopic spine surgery, patients go home with an incision so small that it can be covered with a regular-sized band-aid and enjoy fewer complications and a shorter recovery time as compared to traditional open back surgery.

Causes of Cervical Spinal Stenosis

In most cases, cervical spinal stenosis is caused by osteoarthritis, bone spurs, bulging or herniated discs, injury or trauma to the spine or spondylolisthesis. In rare cases, cervical spinal stenosis is caused by a congenital disorder.

If you have neck or upper back pain and think you may be suffering from this neck pain condition, please contact our Cervical Spinal Stenosis Treatment Specialists at Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians today to schedule a consultation. Surgery was a success my left knee is fully functional again. Langer and his staff was very helpful through this entire process they assigned me a top physical therapist Cara which was great at helping me to improve now just up to me to continue to condition myself back to the way I was physically before the injury and hopefully I never have to endure any future injuries that lead to surgery. Overall a great help and experience after surgery was completed. Thank You to Langer and his staff.

Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians are excellent in the work they do. They take their time with each patient and make sure you walk away with an understanding of exactly what you're going through. I have been a patient here twice and I could 100% assure you that you will have a great experience. Further the physicians are very knowledgeable and experienced at what they do. Moreover, the entire staff are welcoming and accommodating to your needs. I work in Entertainment, and have appeared several times on television (Google "David Wells and Ricky Johnson). I recommend and trust Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians.
