Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians is pleased to offer expert percutaneous vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty treatments for use in treating the chronic back pain associated with vertebral fractures. We are an orthopedic and interventional spine practice that specializes in finding solutions to chronic and acute pain conditions using interventional spine treatments. Our practice features a team of double board-certified interventional spine physicians and orthopedic specialists who are committed to helping patients with acute or chronic pain find long-term relief and improved function so they can return to a healthy and active lifestyle.
Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians is a trusted source for kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty treatments. Kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty treatments are two minimally invasive procedures that can be used to treat severe pain that is caused by vertebral fractures and has not responded to more conservative treatments.
During a vertebroplasty procedure, a bone cement is injected under pressure, directly into the fractured vertebra. Once in position, the cement hardens and congeals the fractured vertebra to provide immediate stability. During a kyphoplasty procedure, a balloon catheter is guided into the affected vertebra and inflated with a liquid under pressure. As the balloon inflates, it serves to actively restore the collapse in the vertebra. Once the balloon is maximally inflated, it is collapsed and removed and the space created is filled with a type of cement that hardens to provide stability.
The interventional spine physicians and orthopedic specialists from Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians are highly trained and experienced in vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty procedures. Using these advanced interventional treatments, we are able to help patients who have pain and spine instability from vertebral fractures find long-term pain relief, improved function and a better overall quality of life.
