About Cassandra Winston-Griffin, DNP, CRNP, ANP-BC
Dr. Winston-Griffin is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner specializing in the treatment of spine and orthopedic trauma in Birmingham, Alabama. She is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and began her nursing career in the Level 1 Burn, Trauma, and Critical Care Unit. In 1995, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing at UAB specializing in Acute and Continuing Care Trauma and worked for over 18 years with the Orthopedic Spine Surgery team and 3 years with the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment team. In 2020, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at UAB and worked as a contract Nurse Practitioner in Personal Injury, Occupational Health, and Legal Nurse Consulting. Her passion for nursing, spine care, health promotion, and patient advocacy came from her mother who was a hospital trained nurse and has been wheelchair confined since the age of 23 due to a spinal injury.
Outside of work, Dr. Winston-Griffin is active in coordinating and participating in community service projects and spending time with family and friends.
