Dislocated Shoulder Atlanta, GA
athlete playing tennis

A dislocated shoulder is a common injury among athletes of certain sports. This painful sports injury involves the arm bone dislodging from the socket and causing extreme pain and loss of mobility in the arm. Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians is an orthopedic and sports medicine practice that features a dedicated team of Interventional Sport physicians and orthopedic specialists. We specialize in helping athletes recover from their injuries and return to peak performance levels. Our use of the most advanced and minimally invasive treatment methods sets us apart from those physicians who want to use surgery as a first option. At Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians, we are committed to helping our patients recover from an injury in the least invasive manner.

It is very important that a dislocated shoulder be treated right away. The shoulder needs to be re-set as quickly as possible to prevent further swelling and damage. Once the arm is put back in the socket much of the pain is alleviated. However, this does not mean that the shoulder is healed and can be used normally. After the shoulder bone is repositioned, the specialists at Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians use minimally invasive treatment methods to promote healing and to prevent future injuries from occurring.

At Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians, we pride ourselves on offering a low patient-to-provider ratio because we know that it takes time and personalized care to accurately find the most appropriate treatment plan. While we are committed to using the most minimally invasive methods possible to help our patients recover from a dislocated shoulder, those who have repeated dislocations may require surgery in order to prevent further dislocation and the problems associated with repeat injury. Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians is one of the leading providers of endoscopic surgery in the Southeast that allows for a shorter recovery time and fewer complications associated with surgery.

If you have continued pain or lack of mobility due to a dislocated shoulder, contact Ortho Sport & Spine today to schedule a consultation with one of our physicians. We look forward to helping you recover from your dislocated shoulder so that you can live your best, and active, life.

Surgery was a success my left knee is fully functional again. Langer and his staff was very helpful through this entire process they assigned me a top physical therapist Cara which was great at helping me to improve now just up to me to continue to condition myself back to the way I was physically before the injury and hopefully I never have to endure any future injuries that lead to surgery. Overall a great help and experience after surgery was completed. Thank You to Langer and his staff.

Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians are excellent in the work they do. They take their time with each patient and make sure you walk away with an understanding of exactly what you're going through. I have been a patient here twice and I could 100% assure you that you will have a great experience. Further the physicians are very knowledgeable and experienced at what they do. Moreover, the entire staff are welcoming and accommodating to your needs. I work in Entertainment, and have appeared several times on television (Google "David Wells and Ricky Johnson). I recommend and trust Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians.
